Visionary Heights, Inc. started in September 2014 as Creative Heights Houston, a private space that held private house concerts and combined them with art from local artists. Since that beginning, we have grown and evolved into an art gallery and listening room. We hold regular concerts, featuring new or established artists and local art. Both the musicians and artists love it because it brings in a diverse audience and creates a conversation about music, art, and creative expression. We also hold themed art shows and a singer-songwriter song swap with Ken Gaines on every third Sunday.
Visionary Heights is a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that serves as Houston’s first Arts Incubator that supports all the creative arts: music, visual arts and performance. We mentor amateur and professional visual artists, musicians and performers and give them the tools to build a successful career. If you would like to support our mission, please make a donation or volunteer.
Located in the Historic Heights, we have two galleries. The front gallery houses our permanent sculpture exhibit. The main gallery and Listening Room has excellent acoustics – which is why many of our performers play unplugged. Our gallery can exhibit between 20 and 25 pieces of art, depending on size and configuration. It opens into an open kitchen and refreshment area. The space reflects its 1940s industrial origins with concrete and wood flooring. Because of the age of the building, we are not wheel-chair friendly. Parking is also limited as we are located in a residential neighborhood.
Our gallery is also available to rent for small, intimate events or for music rehearsal. Contact us to learn more!
